The 28th COOMET Committee of the Regional Metrological Organization for Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrological Institutions was held from April 09 to 12. This was the first time Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. the Institute of Metrology of BiH hosted COOMET Committee, which is the most significant annual meeting within this regional metrological organization. The COOMET Committee meeting included 16 meetings of the Joint Committee on Measurement Standards as well as a workshop on CIPM MRA (International Committee for Weights and Measures Mutual Recognition Arrangement) organized by BIPM.
Mr. Valery Gurevich from Belarus officially assumed the position of chairman of the COOMET organization after being elected to that position at the last COOMET Committee meeting. The term of the previous chairman of the COOMET organization, Mr. Vladimir Krutikov from Russia, ended with this meeting.
The meeting was attended by approximately 80 participants, representatives of COOMET member’s metrology institutes, as well as invited representatives of important metrology organizations such as BIPM, OIML, APMP and EURAMET. Representatives from the following countries attended the meeting: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Cuba, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
Agreement on mutual Cooperation between Regional Metrological Organizations COOMET and EURAMET was signed on April 12, 2018. The Agreement was signed by the newly elected chairmen of COOMET Mr. Valery Gurevich and EURAMET chairman Mr. Beat Jackelmann.
