In the period from April 24-26, 2019, an expert visit was held at the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the support of TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange) instrument, which has the role of mediating between experts and users, and an expert from the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Tomaž Korenčanin, with many years of experience in this field, was hired as an expert. This visit consisted of two parts.

In the first part, for two days (April 24 and April 25, 2019), a draft Rulebook for measurement requirements for ethylmeters was prepared, prepared by representatives of the Institute. Mr. Tomaž Korenčanin from the Institute of Metrology of Slovenia - MIRS, gave his suggestions and proposals in order to harmonize the draft rulebook with OIML recommendation 126 and good European practices. This harmonization would provide measurements with the necessary accuracy and reliability in the interest of protecting citizens, which is the primary role of legal metrology and legal control of the measuring instruments. In addition to the experts and representatives of the Institute, representatives of the Directorate for European Integration were present during these two days.

On April 26, 2019, a workshop entitled "Devices for measuring the concentration of alcohol in the exhale of subjects with the accompanying legislation and regulations" was organized. Representatives of the entity metrology institutions, police from the Federation of BiH and Brčko District, as well as representatives of laboratories, Directorate for European Integration and the Institute for Accreditation were present at this workshop. The main objective of this workshop was to present the good practices and experiences of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of blood alcohol concentration control through exhalation, as well as the proposals for amendments to the new Rulebook on measurement requirements for ethylmeters.
