The Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology (KazStandart) with headquarters in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Zijad Džemić, Director of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Gabit Mukhambetov, Director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology (KazStandart). The MoU was signed on May 16, 2022. during the meeting of MC SMIIC in Istanbul. The Kazakhstan Institute for Standardization and Metrology is part of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the basic activities which KazStandart performs include participation in the implementation of state policy and the improvement of the uniformity of the state metrology system, conducting scientific research, as well as training and advanced training of staff in the field of metrology.
Through the signed MoU, both institutions will have multiple benefits, which will be reflected in the implementation of joint research projects, organization of seminars, symposia, workshops, and advanced training, cooperation with experts from other national metrology institutes, exchange of information, laws, and bylaws, comparisons of national metrological standards but also improvement of existing equipment in metrological laboratories.
