The Ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan in Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Muhammad Khalid Rao, in the past period expressed the desire to get acquainted with the scope and activities of the Institute of Metrology of BiH for possible cooperation with the scientific and technical community of I.R. Pakistan, including the Pakistan National Metrology Institute, the National Physical and Standards Laboratory within the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

On 16th March, general director of IMBIH, dr sc. Zijad Džemić has welcomed representatives of the embassy at the IMBIH premises as part of an official visit. His Excellency, Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Rao and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy I.R. Pakistan, Мr. Rafique Shakaib, have been informed on the main activities and development strategy of IMBIH with a special emphasis on scientific research activities and activities in the direction of proving the internationally recognized competencies of IMBIH in the field of calibration and testing. After several hours of conversation and mutual exchange of experiences and information, it was decided to formalize future cooperation in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding within which the areas of cooperation for mutual benefit would be specified.

For many years, IMBIH has been successfully practicing these types of cooperation with prestigious national metrology institutes of European and world countries, industry and academia, within which many benefits have been achieved in terms of knowledge transfer and research activities that have enabled continuous development of IMBIH capacities.
