The directors of the Institute of Metrology of BiH and the Institute for Standardization of BiH had a business meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to BiH, Her Excellency Ivana Hlavsova, at the Embassy in Sarajevo on November 19, 2020. This meeting marked the continuation of many years of very successful cooperation between these institutions. Namely, in the past eight years, the Institute of Metrology of BiH has achieved many benefits in the field of technical capacity development and expertise on the basis of several bilateral projects funded by the Czech Republic through the Czech Development Agency and with the expert support of the Czech Metrology Institute (CMI). Numerous metrological services of the Institute recognized at the international level have been established, including participation in a large number of European and international scientific research projects. 

Projects realized so far supported the development of laboratory capacity of the Institute of Metrology of BiH in the field of electrical quantities, time and frequency, quantity and quality of liquid and gaseous fuels, density of liquids and ionizing radiation, and the new project will continue support in the areas of electrical quantities and time and frequency, and it will enable capacity building in the field of photometry.

The project, implemented by the Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Institute for Standardization of BiH, is to contribute to increasing the quality and safety of engineering constructions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the competitiveness of domestic construction products and their access to the EU market.
