On 27.04.2017. Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( IMBIH ) signed the memorandum of cooperation with the All-Russian research Institute of Metrology services ( VNIIMS-http://www.vniims.com ). The memorandum was signed in Minsk, Belarus during the maintenance of the annual meeting of COOMET Committe (Regional Meterology Organisation Euro-Asia) in which Bosnia and Herzegovina regurarly take part and membership trough the Institute of Metrology since 2013. COOMET this year celebrates 25 years since its founding.

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between director, Professor Alexander Yu. Kuzin in front of VNIIMS and director Zijad Dzemic in front of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the next two months action plan will be detailed and agreed upon the achievement of a direct meetings with the VNIIMS. In this way, opportunities for exchange and experience will be open, primarily in the field of legal metrology, yet, other areas of metrology in BiH will be improved and strenghted.

FSUE "VNIIMS" is a leading Russian scientific organizations in the field of legal metrology, as well as the leading academic research center for metrological support of various sectors of the national economy, including energy, oil and gas industry, mechanical, chemical - technological industry and others. FSUE "VNIIMS" is working within the Federal Agency for Technical Regulations and Metrology as the part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

VNIIMS is based in Moscow and it is an integral part of the Russian metrology system that has a role to cooperate closely with the Government of the Russian Federation and to create metrology development and international cooperation of the Russian Federation. VNIIMS conducts its activities in accordance with the legislation, regulations and legal acts of the country. Applying the legal regulations VNIMS ensures uniform measurements in order to protect citizens, establishing a legal framework in the field of legal metrology, and protection of the economy of the Russian Federation. Also, VNIIMS is responsible for the alignment of the national legislation with international recommendations in the field of legal metrology.
