On November 4th 2016, the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina was informed by the Chairman of MATHMET: "The European Centre for Mathematics and Statistics in Metrology," Dr Markus Bär on the admission to full membership in this prestigious organization after a unanimous decision made by other members, national metrology institutes of France (LNE), UK (NPL), Germany (PTB) and Sweden (SP).
MATHMET was established as a result of EURAMET EMRP project NEW04 "New mathematical and statistical approaches to estimating uncertainty" and it represents a European platform for the application of mathematical and statistical research in all areas of metrology for metrologists, academia and industry through the creation of guidelines, cooperation on scientific research projects, and through workshops and training materials. MATHMET offers help in creating mathematical models for evaluation of key interlaboratory comparisons, estimation of measurement uncertainty, complex modelling, conformity assessment, dynamic measurement and regression analysis.
Membership of IMBIH in such a prestigious scientific organization confirms the relevance of research carried out at the Institute and represent a confirmation of success in achieving objectives towards the development of competencies of professional staff of the Institute.
