The Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBIH) has successfully completed the accreditation process in accordance with BAS EN ISO 17034 – General requirements for the competence of reference material producers and BAS EN ISO/IEC 17043 – Conformity assessment – General requirements for proficiency testing.
The accreditation was granted by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) for activities related to the organisation of proficiency testing schemes and the production of reference materials for the chemical testing of precious metal alloys.
Within the accredited scope, IMBIH will continue to develop and maintain reference materials for laboratories performing the determination of precious metal content in alloys, as well as organise proficiency testing schemes. The Institute will also continue to expand the implementation of the requirements of these standards in line with the needs of industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina and international requirements, thereby contributing to increased confidence in measurement results and to the further development of the national quality infrastructure.
The achievement of these accreditations is the result of many years of work by the Institute's expert team in developing testing methods, establishing and continually improving the quality management system, and strengthening technical competencies in the field of precious metal testing.
