The final meeting of the EURAMET project 22NRM07 GuideRadPROS (“Guidance for Radiation Protection Dosimetry and Standardisation”) was held in Helsinki, Finland, on 7–8 May 2026, marking the successful completion of the three-year work of the international consortium dedicated to advancing metrology and standardisation in the field of radiation protection dosimetry.

The Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBiH), through its Ionising Radiation Laboratory, actively participated in the project as a member of the consortium. During the meeting, the results achieved within all work packages were presented, the final versions of technical reports and guidance documents were reviewed, and activities related to the dissemination and implementation of the project outcomes were discussed.

IMBiH had a leading role in the implementation of Work Package 5, “Creating Impact”, which focused on dissemination, communication, and promotion of project results. Within this work package, IMBiH coordinated activities related to project visibility, preparation of promotional materials, communication with stakeholders, and support for the organisation of workshops, scientific events, and other activities aimed at facilitating the dissemination and uptake of project results among calibration laboratories, regulatory authorities, equipment manufacturers, and standardisation organisations.

The objective of the GuideRadPROS project was to develop harmonised guidance for reference radiation fields, calibration and testing of radiation protection dosimeters, and to provide support for future revisions of international radiation protection standards. Particular attention was devoted to the characterisation of reference X-ray fields, harmonisation of dosimeter type-testing procedures, evaluation of emerging dosimetry technologies, and implementation of the new operational quantities introduced in ICRU Report 95.

During the project, several guidance documents, technical reports, scientific publications, and educational materials were produced for calibration laboratories, dosimeter manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and standardisation organisations. The project results are expected to support future revisions of ISO and IEC standards applied in the field of radiation protection.

Participation in the project further strengthened IMBiH’s international cooperation and enhanced its expertise in ionising radiation metrology, while contributing to the involvement of Bosnia and Herzegovina in European activities related to the development and harmonisation of standards in this field.
