

A representative of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBiH) visited the Institute of Metrology of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AzIM) at the beginning of December. AZiM operates within the State Agency for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control of the Republic of Azerbaijan, under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, detailed information was presented on AzIM’s laboratory infrastructure, ongoing activities, cooperation with international organizations, and measures undertaken to strengthen human resource capacities. The participants also discussed opportunities for joint activities, identified areas of mutual interest, and explored prospects for the implementation of future projects.
Following the meeting, the IMBiH representative visited AzIM’s reference laboratories and was introduced to their measurement and calibration capabilities, as well as the fields of their application.
As part of the visit, the IMBiH representative delivered a professional lecture to employees of the Azerbaijani Institute, as well as to representatives of government institutions, universities, and industry, on the topic “Global Quality Infrastructure,” with particular emphasis on current issues in the areas of calibration and verification.
As a result of the visit and the activities carried out, the procedure for signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two institutions is currently underway.
