A delegation of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBiH) visited the Czech Metrology Institute (CMI) in Prague and took part in the annual IMEKO General Council meeting.

During the visit to CMI, a fruitful meeting was held with the institute’s management focusing on the continuation of collaboration in the field of metrology and the further expansion of IMBiH’s services and technical competences. The bilateral cooperation between IMBiH and CMI, facilitated by the Czech Development Agency (CDA) as part of the Czech Government’s international development cooperation, has already produced excellent results through three successful three-year projects. These projects have significantly contributed to the training and specialization of IMBiH staff, procurement of new state-of-the-art equipment, and a general upgrade of IMBiH’s profile as a national and international metrology institute. Building on this strong foundation, both institutes expressed their intention to further strengthen cooperation through new joint projects and initiatives.

The delegation also visited CMI’s laboratory facilities, where they were introduced to the latest developments in quantum metrology, new approaches to the regulation of instruments for drug evidential testing, as well as the creation of digital certificates of conformity and calibration.

In parallel, at the IMEKO General Council meeting, IMBiH reaffirmed its active role as a member of the international metrology community. This engagement is further strengthened through the involvement of IMBiH experts in numerous IMEKO Technical Committees, as well as their contributions as authors and reviewers of scientific papers for IMEKO journals.

Through these activities, IMBiH continues to build strong international partnerships and enhance its expertise in support of metrology development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
