The Director of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina,  Ms. Milica Ristović Krstić, participates in the three-day celebration of World Metrology Day and the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Metre Convention at the ceremonial symposium hosted by UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris.

On 20 May 2025, a historic milestone is marked in the field of measurement science—the 150th anniversary of the Metre Convention. This year’s World Metrology Day was commemorated with a special international symposium held under the theme “150 Years of the Metre Convention: Science, Innovation and Global Impact.” Organized in partnership with the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), the event brings together government representatives, leading scientists, industry experts,  and members of the public to reflect on the remarkable achievements of metrology over the past century and a half.

The ceremonial symposium is followed by a two-day conference held in Versailles. The conference included presentations from key stakeholders in world metrology and round table discussions designed to facilitate an open exchange of ideas on topics related to the main outcomes of the CIPM Strategy 2030+.

Director Ristović Krstić’s presence at this high-level event reaffirms Bosnia and Herzegovina’s dedication to international standards, scientific excellence, and active participation in the global metrology community.
