Sarajevo, 14 April 2025 – The Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBIH) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology of the Russian Federation (GOST R) for a bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of metrology. 

The meeting was led by Ms. Milica Ristović Krstić, Director of IMBIH, and Mr. Anton Shalaev, Head of GOST R. Representatives from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina also participated.

Key topics included future collaboration in scientific and legal metrology, with special focus on reference materials and metrology in the field of healthcare. The Russian side offered support in supplying reference materials and proposed extending IMBIH’s agreement with the D.I. Mendeleev Institute of Metrology (VNIIM) to include broader cooperation with other Russian metrology institutes.

The two delegations also discussed enhancing cooperation through COOMET, where Bosnia and Herzegovina is recognized as a leading participant in Eastern Europe. In support of capacity building, the Russian side offered training programs to address IMBIH’s current staffing challenges and support professional development.

The meeting marked an important step toward deeper international collaboration and innovation in metrology.
