From October 15 to 17, 2024, the 9th annual meeting of the EURAMET Capacity Building Working Group (BoD-WGCB) was held at the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBiH). The goal of the working group is to support the vision of a coherent, efficient, sustainable and integrated European metrology, to identify and propose measures for building and improving the capacity of all EURAMET members, especially new and small national metrology institutes and designated institutes, as well as to raise awareness about the development of metrology and quality infrastructure in all member countries.

The meeting began on October 15 with a session of the BoD-WGCB Steering Committee, while the second and third day featured a meeting of the group's contact persons. The meeting provided an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and strengthening cooperation among EURAMET members, particularly in the areas of capacity building and sustainable metrology infrastructure.

In her opening address, Milica Ristović Krstić, Director of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomed all participants and wished them successful work and a pleasant stay in Sarajevo. The meeting was chaired by the group coordinator, Wolfgang Schmid (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt - PTB). During the meeting, updates on EURAMET's activities were presented, along with significant information about new tools for strengthening metrological infrastructure capacity through the "Capacity Building Coordination (CaBuCo)" program, as well as experiences from previous practice. Present representatives of national metrology institutes shared updates and development activities undertaken since the last meeting.
