As part of its activities, the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBIH) plans to organize interlaboratory comparisons (ILC) with the aim of testing capabilities (PT) in the areas of calibration: mass (reference weights), pressure, time, humidity and electrical quantities.

With this service, we want to provide the possibility of confirming the quality assurance of calibration results according to the BAS EN ISO/IEC 17025: 2018 standard by accredited calibration laboratories in Bosnia and Herzegovina, by the accreditation body in BiH, BATA, as well as potential calibration laboratories that are in preparation for accreditation. The purpose of the capability test is to evaluate the calibrations performed by the participating laboratories, to identify possible problems related to procedures, staff effectiveness and supervision, as well as to the equipment, then initiate actions for improvements, and ultimately to improve user's confidence in provided services and identify differences between participating laboratories.

The planned interlaboratory comparisons are:

The proposed PT/ILC will be organized in accordance with the requirements of the standard BAS EN ISO/IEC 17043: 2024 Conformity assessment – General requirements for the competence of providers of proficiency testing (ie ISO/IEC 17043: 2023).

The Institute of Metrology of BiH is a signatory to the Agreement on Mutual Recognition of National Standards and Certificates on Calibration and Measurements (CIPM MRA - Mutual Recognition Arrangement of the International Committee of Weights and Measures), and the calibration and measurement capabilities of national standards are implemented at the Institute of Metrology. BiH entered in the Database of key interlaboratory comparisons in the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM KCDB). https://www.bipm.org/kcdb.In this regard, IMBIH laboratories will be pilot laboratories for the proposed PT/ILC, and provide a reference value in these inter-laboratory comparisons.

Planned realization period:

01.08.2024. - submission of applications for participation

01.09.2024. - submission of Technical Protocols and preliminary invoices for the payment of the participation

01.09.2024. – 31.11.2024. realization of measurements by the pilot laboratory and participating laboratories

31.12.2024. - evaluation of the results and submission of the ILC Report
