From February 6 to 8, 2024, the regular annual meeting of the Technical Committee for Chemistry within the European Association of Metrology Institutes EURAMET - TCMC was held in Delft, the Netherlands, organized by VSL – national metrology institute of the Netherlands, and was attended by representatives of Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina together with participants from more than 30 European countries.
Subcommittees for organic and inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry and gas analysis operate within this technical committee. The Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina regularly participates in development projects and intercomparisons in the field of organic and inorganic analysis, as well as testing of renewable and fossil fuels. During this year's TCMC meeting, it was reported on current projects and intercomparisons within metrology in chemistry, proposals for new projects within the EURAMET European Partnership on Metrology program, and activities within European Metrology Networks, as well as activities of other international and regional metrology organizations and related bodies dealing with metrology in chemistry. The Institute of Metrology of BiH actively participates in several projects related to the development of methods for testing renewable fuels in accordance with the European Green Deal, and for the testing of various analytes with an impact on the environment and food quality, the development of methods for testing the exploitability of recycling technical waste, and deals with the development of reference materials of interest to BiH and beyond.
