In the period from January 22-25, 2024, “The Precise Time and Time Interval Systems and Applications” meeting was held in Long Beach, California, US, organized by Institute of Navigation. The representatives of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina were the authors of the presentation: “Enhanced performances of UTC(k) timescales generated by cesium atomic clocks using real-time PPP corrected GNSS time and frequency transfer”, which is result of long-term collaboration with high-tech company Fugro N.V. Netherland. We demonstrated a novel approach with the aim to improve the cesium-based UTC(k) timescale in terms of both stability and accuracy with respect to the reference UTC. The time transfer system we utilize is based on GNSS PPP with real-time precise orbit and clock corrections and advanced error modeling. The overall performance improvements are evaluated in terms of accuracy and stability of UTC(IMBH) timescale. The presented approach offers significant enhancement of cesium-based UTC(k) realizations, with improved performances comparable with those from hydrogen masers.
The conference was also an opportunity to gain knowledge and share experiences with the world-leading National Metrology Institutes, as well as improving the cooperation with the world's largest technical professional society and companies in this area.
