On July 6, 2023, in the Hotel Ibis Styles Sarajevo, as part of the project "EU4Business: Encouraging a common regional market through quality infrastructure and e-commerce", implemented by GIZ, a workshop was held with stakeholders in BiH where the results of the assessment of the compliance of the electrical and machinery sector of BiH with EU regulations were presented.

This workshop is part of the joint planning of activities for the presentation of the project and the key results of research into the state of the electricity market and the machinery sector in the countries that are included in this project. Participants at the workshop were representatives of conformity assessment bodies, manufacturers, and representatives of chambers of commerce.

Presentations and introductions of the institutions for quality infrastructure in BiH were held at the workshop: the Institute for Standardization of BiH, the Institute of Metrology of BiH, the Institute for Accreditation of BiH, the Agency for the Supervision of the Market of BiH, and the presentation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, as a key actor for the harmonization of technical regulations and conformity assessment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

A panel discussion was held on the assessment results, which resulted in recommendations of measures for further improvement.
