Representatives of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the 34th meeting of the technical committees of COOMET held on May 23 and 24, 2023, and at the conference marking the 100th anniversary of the Kazakh Institute for Standardization and Metrology - KazStandard held on May 25, 2023. The host of both events was the Kazakh Institute of Standardization and Metrology - KazStandard, in the capital Nur-Sultan (Astana).

At the 34th meeting of the technical committees of COOMET, IMBiH presented its work and reported on the most significant changes, as well as the laboratory capacities and competencies of its staff in the reporting period 2022/2023 before the members of COOMET as part of the regular annual reporting plan in accordance with the rules of this metrology organization. At the solemn international scientific conference entitled "Measurements as a basis for global trust" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of metrology in Kazakhstan, IMBiH gave a presentation entitled "Role of metrology in quality infrastructure - general aspects and case study for Bosnia and Herzegovina". The aforementioned events were attended by hundreds of scientists and metrologists, as well as decision-makers in the field of metrology and standardization from the countries of Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America that are members of COOMETas well as representatives of other regional metrology organizations that follow the work of COOMET and cooperate in scientific research activities, and in raising awareness of the importance of metrology and quality infrastructure in general.

COOMET is a regional metrology organization (RMO) for Eurasia and is one of the RMOs recognized by the BIPM (International Organization for Scientific Metrology) in which it actively participates and organizes intercomparisons and scientific research studies and projects in the direction of improving and expanding metrology competencies for serving customers worldwide. IMBiH has been an associate member of COOMET since 2013 and regularly participates in the work of COOMET technical committees in various fields of physical and chemical quantities, and also cooperates bilaterally with individual members of COOMET with the aim of strengthening infrastructural and human capacities.
