In an effort to promote international cooperation in the field of metrology, representatives of national metrology institutes participated in the meeting of the Working Group for the Analysis of Inorganic Substances (IAWG) of the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance (CCQM), within the framework of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM).
The meeting, which lasted for two days, on April 25th and 26th, 2023 in Paris, provided an opportunity for working group members to exchange ideas on scientific research projects, interlaboratory comparisons, and exchange experiences and discussions on the application of different measurement techniques and analytical methods of measurement. Meeting participants were experts from national metrology institutes from countries such as the United States, France, Germany, and China, as well as many other countries.
One of the main goals of the CCQM IAWG meeting was to establish a work plan for future activities and initiatives, with the ultimate goal of improving the accuracy of measurements and ensuring traceability between national metrology institutes, as well as adding new "Calibration and Measurement Capabilities" (CMCs), which relates to the ability of national metrology institutes to ensure reliable and accurate measurements of the amount of substance in the field of inorganic testing.
Ultimately, the CCQM IAWG meeting was an opportunity for working group members to come together, share knowledge and ideas, and make progress in this field through collaborative efforts.
