In the period from 27.03 to 30.3.2023, the 18th meeting of the EURAMET Technical Committee for Quality (TC-Q) was held.

The TC-Q meeting was held in two parts, the first part of the meeting was dedicated to the work of the TC-Q management board which deals with the evaluation of the quality management system reports of all metrology institutes (NMI and DI) operating within EURAMET. The second part of the meeting referred to the TC-Q plenary session. The representative of the Institute of Metrology of BiH participated in both parts of the meeting.

The meeting was held in Bern and the host of this meeting was the National Metrology Institute of the Swiss Confederation METAS. During the plenary meeting, the IMBiH representative presented the changes in the measurement system of Bosnia and Herzegovina which primarily related to the change in the location of certain laboratories and the maintenance of their competencies. The presentation successfully defended the quality system (QMS) in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, which was unanimously accepted by TC-Q.

The meeting was attended by a large number of representatives of NMI and DI from all over Europe, as well as guests from other regional metrology organizations APMP and GULFMET.

During the meeting, trust in managing the quality system was defended by metrology institutes (NMI and DI): Switzerland, Portugal, Finland, Austria, Montenegro, Spain, and France.

The declared Institute (DI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Water Institute from Bijeljina, also successfully defended its quality system (re-evaluation of the QMS), thus gaining the trust of the presented QMS.

After the meeting, the laboratories of the Metrology Institute of Switzerland (METAS) were visited.

The next meeting will be held in March/April 2024 in Delft, Netherlands.
