The promotion of the book “Inspection of Medical Devices – for regulatory purposes”, edited by Almir Badnjević, Mario Cifrek, Ratko Magjarević and Zijad Džemić, was held today in Sarajevo. Around 20 other experts from this field took part in the preparation of the book.
Springer, leading global scientific publisher which has been a part of Nature publishing since 2015, recognized the quality, importance, and uniqueness of this book and decided to publish it under Springer Nature thus adding immense importance and value to the whole scientific world. The book was published as a part of a series of books in the field of biomedical engineering.
This was also the first time Springer held an official promotion of a book in BiH for which a special thanks goes to the editors whose work has deserved for such an event to be organized in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The book “Inspection of Medical Devices” offers a guide to implementing European directives for a new approach in the field of medicine through verification systems for medical devices with measuring functions. It describes the processes, procedures and a need for integrating medical devices into the legal metrology framework. Institute of Metrology BiH has provided traceability of measurement for medical devices, international standards and common definitions of units of measurement. Verification of medical devices increases the accuracy and safety of medical devices and achieves significant savings in the healthcare system. Above all, the most important benefit of accurate measurement is the increase of accuracy and reliability of diagnoses and information needed for appropriate treatment of patients.
